CareScience has awarded Tri-City Medical Center with an annual CareScience Select Practice National Quality Leader Award for the treatment of ischemic stroke. Tri-City was one of more than 80 hospitals nationwide to receive the award.

CareScience is the health care consulting division of Colorado-based software company Quovadx, which trades on the Nasdaq as QVDX.

Ischemic strokes account for almost 90% of strokes. It results when an artery that supplies blood to the brain is blocked.

The critieria for the award included analysis of 16 clinical indicators.
