General Guidelines for Visitors
Recognizing the positive contribution made by patients' family and loved ones, the Medical Center is open for visiting 24 hours a day. In general, however, follow the visiting guidelines listed below.
- Check in at the main lobby reception desk.
The main reception desk, where you can ask for the location of the patient, is straight ahead and to your right as you enter.
- All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Be able to provide proof of immunization for visiting children to maternal/child health.
- Two visitors bedside at a time is the rule in most units.
- If you have a specific question, contact the physician or the unit directly. Refer to the directory in Contact Us.
- A gift shop and cafeteria are available within the hospital. Refer to our Services for Visitors section.
Visiting Hospital Rooms
- Visiting hours are 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
- Visitors under the age of 14 are strongly discouraged from visiting. They must be supervised at all times by an adult other than the patient.
Visiting the Maternity Unit
- Fathers/partners may stay 24 hrs. a day in Labor & Delivery with expecting mothers.
- Biological father and grandparents may visit any time.
- Visitors under 14 must be brothers and sisters of the new baby and must have a current immunization record.
- All others are asked to visit 1:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
Visiting the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Visit anytime except between these hours: 6:30 AM to 8 AM and 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
- One parent must accompany any visitor.
- Parents may also visit from 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM every day.
Visiting the Adult Critical Care Unit
- Visiting is permitted all hours by immediate family/significant others except 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
- To provide privacy and confidentiality, visitors may be requested to wait in designated waiting areas during physician examinations, nursing care, and the performance of tests or procedures.
